Martin LaMonica at CNET reports:
"With improvements in technology, [9watt] LED light sources are becoming bright enough to replace...60-watt incandescent bulbs or their compact fluorescent equivalents. The bulbs don't contain mercury [unlike compact flourescent bulbs] and some LED retrofit suppliers say the products are recyclable."
